In October of 2020, a furry angel walked into my life.
I was temporarily living with my parents due to some health issues I was having. Trying to cope with living in the pandemic, recovering my physical & emotional health and navigating family dynamics after living on my own for several years made for an interesting year.
One night, my sister, who was also living with us at the time, heard some “meows.” It sounded like a young cat seeking to get our attention. However, when we tried to locate the kitten, it was nowhere to be found. Throughout the next few weeks, we kept hearing calls for help, but couldn’t find the kitten when we tried following the sound. Finally, we made a kitty sighting, in my car engine! It still didn’t want to be apprehended, but we eventually convinced it with some cat food. We gradually gained her trust and she stayed.
Many of my close friends know that I was not a cat person, but this little creature that I named Misu ended up being a blessing and comfort during some difficult times.
I’d previously gone through some situations which sucked the joy & life out of me. Apathy had been an almost constant companion for several years, making it difficult to enjoy life, feel or express love, enthusiasm, etc…God knew I needed something uncomplicated and low maintenance with which to exchange love & affection to heal my heart.
Often, furry angels come into our lives bringing joy and healing, in exchange for a home, some food and love.
“Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.” – Hebrews 13:1
